Skripsi: Perbandingan profil leukosit sebelum dan setelah terapi OAT pada pasien tuberkulosis di balai besar kesehatan paru masyarakat makassar tahun 2014

BACKGROUND :Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by the bacteria
Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Tuberculosis can make the increased levels of leukocytes
associated with its function as the body’s defenses, so the blood sedimentation go faster
because of the increase in the levels of leukocytes. This causes the plasma to the higher
volume. The goal of treatment is to eradicate tuberculosis bacilli, tuberculosis quickly,
and prevent recurrence. Ideally treatment to produce a negative sputum smear putum
smear test and bacteria culture, and these results remain negative forever. There is general
agreement that what is referred to as a guide tatment failed recurrence of less than 5%.
(Depkes RI, 2009)
According to the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Health Observation data, the
success pf treatment in new cases of TB patients registered in 2011 around 87% wheras
the succes of treatment in patients with recrrent treatment ranges from72%. (WHO,2014)
PURPOSE : This study aims to determine the differences in the level of
leukocytes in the picture of tuberculosis before and after therapy lung institute
OAT in Makassar.
METHODS : this type of research is analytic observasional study with analytic
methods categorical pairs. The data examined in the form of secondary data
drawn from medical records of tuberculosis patints before and after therapy.
Design research is using cross-sectional design of data collection as well at some
point. Data were alayzed using chi-square test.
RESULT : statistical analysis with chi-square there is a relationship between
adherence to treatment with leukocyte levels. Where 83,3% of patients were
considered appopriate for treatment obtained decreased. Statistical test obtained p
value = 0,002 < α0,005 means that Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. Where is a
significant correlation btween the accuracy of treatment with changes in
leukocyte levels.
CONCLUSION : The results showed no significant difference to the levels of
leukocytes before therapy and after therapy OAT.
