In Asia, particulary Indonesia, the prevalence and incidence of stroke is not
yet know for sure. A stroe each year, about 2,5 % or 125,000 people died, and the rest are
mild disabilities almost every day, or at least an average of at least 3 days once there is a
resident of Indonesia, both young and old died of stroke. In addition, basic health research
result (Riskesda),Stated thata the numbers of genesis (prevalensi) is eight strokes from a
thousand inhabitants. As for the prevalence of stroke based on undiagnosed symptomps and
there were highest Nakes in South Sulawesi 17,9 %.
Objective : to find out the relationship of the level of providing care to patients after
stroke.
Method : This research uses a cross sectional study design, with the number of
samples 50 people. The sample obtained with a non probability sampling techniques are
Consecutivesampling
Result : The results of statiscal tests with Chi-Square value obtained p = 0,022
(p< 0,05)
Conclusion : From the result you can conclude that there is relationship between
knowledge and attitudes of the respondents.
Key word : Knowledge and attitudes of the family in providing care for patients after
stroke.
